Workshop themes

The Dietitian and Health & Wellbeing Coach workshops in the Zoom room nicely dovetail with the Eatwell Guide to support you with your weight, health and wellbeing goals over 12 weeks.

Each workshop has a theme to illustrate the benefits of eating well, moving more and living better.  Lifestyle habits are about the daily choices we make.  Looking after our health and wellbeing is about making better choices and decisions in different situations we face throughout the day.

Take it easy explores the benefits of being physically active. How much exercise do you really need to do? What is the best exercise? Is leisurely walking any good for us? Can we lose weight just by getting active?

Love your heart. Some risk factors for heart disease cannot be changed, such as family history and increasing age, but food, drink and other lifestyle factors also play a part. Do omega-3 fats help?

Blood sugar control. Like heart disease, there are risk factors for type 2 diabetes that we cannot change, but we can do things that lower our risk of diabetes. Hmmm ... does sugar cause diabetes?

Picture
Pressure point. High blood pressure is known as the 'silent killer', because it doesn't cause any symptoms. Family history is a factor, but lifestyle factors, and the mind, also play a part ...

Picture
Sleep matters. Is there a daily activity more important to our mental and physical health than sleep? Not getting enough makes for a lousy start to the day, but we can do things to improve that ...

Picture
Living mindfully. Life gives us many wonderful things, but the pace can be hectic and we always seem to be juggling so much life stuff, which can make it stressful. We'll look at ways for coping ...

Talking gut. It grumbles, it rumbles, it burps ... and bottom burps! If your gut 'talks' too much, then this workshop will help you put a sock in it!  And learn why gut bacteria are important to our health ...

Balancing act is about bringing together all the learning from the workshops, and taking this forward throughout your life. How do you maintain what you've achieved. Let's talk about it ...
